Dear Parents/Guardians,
Following our school survey this year and in consultation with the Parents Association, it has been decided by the Uniform Committee and school management to introduce a change to our school uniform. The survey, completed by the school community, indicated that 63% of respondents were somewhat dissatisfied with the current uniform. A combination of a non-formal and formal uniform emerged as the most desirable option. (Full results of the survey are available on the school noticeboard and at this link: Scoil Ghormáin Naofa Uniform Survey
To this end, the “non formal” tracksuit uniform will be altered slightly. The new version of the tracksuit will be very similar in style and quality to the current tracksuit but it will have improved colour and fade resistance. All pupils must have a school tracksuit. A “formal” school uniform will also be made available to those who wish to purchase one. This is optional.
As with any change this will take time and we have taken this into consideration. There will be a phasing-in period of one year, during which, both the current uniform and the new uniform will be in operation. This will allow for natural wastage of the current uniform. The new uniform will be on display at the annual Sports Day which will be held on Friday 12th June, weather permitting. Please see below for details of the new school uniform.
There is some stock of the current uniform still available. To this end, there will be a flash sale tomorrow Friday 1st May, where all stock will be sold at half price. If anybody cannot make the sale and would like to avail of the offer please contact the office and we will put the stock aside for you.
Kind Regards,
Lisa Dempsey.
