Outdoor classroom!
I am delighted to announce that we are currently purchasing items for our OUTDOOR CLASSROOM! Pictured is our gardening group who are going to collect ideas for our outdoor classroom from the student body. Also pictured, junior and senior infants ‘investigating’ outside. We have a team of staff volunteers who are planning the classroom. We will get started with benches, tables and an outdoor blackboard. As we proceed we will share our wishlist with you as you may be (or may know someone) able … Continue reading

Fresh air movement breaks!
A beautiful start to the week! Lots of classes are making the most of the weather and our beautiful grounds to engage in outdoor learning. One positive we have taken from the Covid experience is our enhanced movement breaks throughout the day. These were introduced as a means of ventilating classrooms but we have found that children are energised and refreshed after them so we are going to keep regular fresh air movement breaks long after Covid!

An outdoor visit from victorious Castletown Ladies Team!
Well done to all on giving the Castletown ladies team such a warm reception today! It was great to celebrate female achievement in sport. Ms. D’Arcy gave a really motivational speech and former pupil Priya Daly O’Toole represented the team brilliantly with her speech. We hope that our female students are empowered by this display of achievement and hope that our male students grow up with a sense of equality in sport. Have a great weekend!

A visit from RTÉ and The Little Medical School!
We had a really interesting day today! It was great to welcome both RTÉ and The Little Medical School to Scoil Ghormáin Naofa! Visitors wore masks, sanitised and worked in line with our Covid guidelines. We hope our junior-3rd class students enjoyed their medical workshop day! We will advise when we know when we are to feature on News2day.
