The Student Voice

Caoimhe and Tabitha dictated an email to me which we sent to the Parents’ Association in response to their survey regarding the 6th class gift. Hearing the pupil voice is so important to us and we are grateful to the PA for extending this invitation to the pupils. It’s also important that we model gratitude for such kind gestures. Well done girls!

Incubation Project – Life Processes in action

Our incubation project is bringing out great curiosity in our pupils. This interactive way of learning about life processes in a hands on way will be much more beneficial and indeed memorable than text book work! Children will monitor the progress and development of the eggs and their contents and will be responsible for ensuring that conditions are maintained. We will keep you posted!

Sport Education in Physical Education

Mr. Breen has taken on a new programme called ‘Sport Education in Physical Education,’ with his 5th/6th class. Sport Education is a specific evidence informed approach to teaching P.E class. It makes sport experiences in P.E more authentic to real life and accordingly prepare children to participate in recreational physical activity outside of school. Ultimately it encourages development of competent, literate, enthusiastic sports people. We are so lucky to have such giving staff here!

CAIRDE NUA!

Dia daoibh! Cairde nua!! Beidh na múinteoirí ag úsáid na puipéid seo chun an Gaeilge neamhfhoirmiúil a fhorbairt (trí cómhrá, ról imirt, drámaíocht, ceol srl). Beidh craic ag na páistí a bheith ag smaoineamh ainmneacha dóibh!!
Hello! New friends! Teachers will be using these to develop informal Irish (through conversation, role play, drama, music etc). The pupils will have great fun thinking of names for them!
