SSE – School Self Evaluation – gymnastics This year we are looking at the teaching of gymnastics using our outdoor facilities. Our staff undertook training in this area and are embedding new practices this month. The children are really enjoying these lessons! Playground Leaders 2022-2023 Well done to our playground leaders who are doing a great job with our new Junior infants!

Using 20 cards and 16 paperclips the challenge was to see which group could build the tallest tower, focusing on the idea of materials and foundations. We looked at houses around the world built with Lego and plastic bottles. This is fantastic prior knowledge for 3 little pigs , coming next week!

When you arrive at our school, you will be greeted by our specially curated art gallery featuring work from across the school. We value the process as well as the product and love the variety of outcomes. Stay tuned for updates over the year when we will include print, fabric and fibre. We have resumed paired reading on Tuesday mornings and are really enjoying weklcoming our parents and grandparents back! This year, we have stepped it up a notch and are using the time to develop critical thinking skills. Our volunteers will be asking question based on the text, inference, use of the picture and making connections. We are so grateful to our volunteers who welcomed this progression so eagerly!

1st class are learning all about primary and secondary colours. We completed a travelling water experiment today in science. What a lovely way to integrate art and Science!

We are just so proud of our U12 players, Kayleigh, Ruby, Éabha and Ellen. They are wonderful role models for younger players. We look forward to following your progress girls!

5th and 6th class were full of enthusiasm and motivation during orienteering today! We love our @ActiveFlag plaques!
