Thank you Finola for organising our new Owl habitat! Isn’t it beautiful? It is part of the Barn Owl Project and we would love to see it inhabited! Thank you to Stephen Walsh (wildlife photographer) for installing it and for all the advice! As you can see it will be well guarded here!

In an effort to reduce single use plastic in school , we have decided to ban Twistable type crayons from September. Other Crayola crayons are preferable for younger children. It’s a small change but we like to play our part! We have also banned glitter and our reusable school water bottle is available to purchase in school at a cost of €4.

Congratulations to the following children who were class winners in the target shooting competition on School Tour Day! Thank you to Mr. Breen for organising and for their prizes! Winners: Ellie Byrne,  Caoimhe Kinsella,  Kate Kavanagh, Patrick Fanning, Ronan Russell, Fiadh Russell, Tom Tallon, Robyn Prendergast, Niall Kavanagh and Cillian Blackwell! Well done to all!

What a day we have had!! Our students had so much fun rotating through TEN BUMPER STATIONS throughout the day! Disco Abstract Art with Elaine Splash the Teacher stand! This was a huge hit, unsurprisingly!! Mindfulness stone painting Orienteering with Ms. Carroll The Big Dig – Archaeology site with The Irish School of Archaeology https://sia.ie/the-big-dig/ Fitness with Fiona Target practice with Mr. Breen Birds of Prey with Colin Travers Pirates Cove Go Karts and Train I think that all our staff and students are going to be exhausted tonight!!        

Friday 04/06/2021 One of the year’s highlights happened today -we walked to the beach together!! While we were there, Ms. Russell challenged us to a sandcastle competition. This taps into the construction strand of the visual arts curriculum and it was so nice enjoying this subject on the beach! Lots of students brought their own bits and pieces to add to their castles while others used natural materials – there was such a high standard! We hope you enjoy our photos!     .  

So much activity today, our heads are spinning!! We had a super morning with Tag Rugby with Daisy Earle of Gorey RFC. Daisy kindly spoke to our students today about her Leinster and Ireland career. This was really inspiring for our young female athletes and made us consider equality in sport. We want to see lots more recognition for female achievement! We then had fitness training with Cormac Byrne and Conall from Bluefitness. They certainly put all the classes through their paces but it was so much fun!! Tuesday afternoon 01/06/2021 Superhero Walk a Mile with a Smile and Tug of War!
