Parents’ Representatives for Board of Management

We are coming to the end of our current board of management term and I would like to express my sincere thanks to Joe, Mary, Louise, Concepta, Noel and Niamh who gave of their time and energies voluntarily in support of our school. It has been a most positive experience for our school. We are seeking two Parents’ representatives for the next board of management (2019/2023). There will be a vote in school on Tuesday November 5th at 6pm for this purpose. The procedures are in the link below (p64). We will use the procedures outlined in Option 1 (p66). https://www.education.ie/en/Schools-Colleges/Information/Boards-of-Management/governance-manual-for-primary-schools-2019-2023.pdf

Our Literacy Working Wall

This term, we are focusing on Persuasive Writing as a school. This will culminate in a school wide competition at Hallowe’en. The children will be challenged to write a convincing argument in this genre (differentiated for each level). We look forward to the entries!

Lego Workshop @ Gorey Library for Maths week!

First and second class had a wonderful morning at  Gorey Library. We arrived a little early so they joined in with the nursery rhyme session and really enjoyed it! They were so kind and gentle with the toddlers in the group. I was very proud to hear the lovely feedback from staff and parents there. As it was Maths Week, the children undertook a fun Maths Word Search challenge before engaging in the Lego Bricks 4 Kidz workshop.  Each child assembled an airplane and added a working motor! Great STEM in action! Many thanks to Wexford Bricks 4 Kidz and Gorey Library for this great day!
