First Confession

The Sacrament of Reconciliation, or First Confession, as it is better known took place for 2nd class children on Friday evening in St. Patrick’s Church Castletown. This was another important milestone for these children on their journey towards making their First Holy Communion. Well done to Ms. Byrne and all the 2nd class for their lovely presentation of the story ‘The Good Shephard’ . Also well done to the all the children from the rest of our school community who sang beautifully for the occasion.

Scholastic Bookfair

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to everyone for their support of our Book Fair. We had total sales of  €1956.62 and  as the school receives 60% commission on total sales we now have €1173.97 to spend on new and exciting books for our classrooms. This is a fantastic achievement and a testament to the support and dedication of the Castletown community towards our school. Here are some pictures of 3rd and 4th class engaging with our new ‘Connectors’ courtesy of the Book Fair.

Arklow Feis 5th and 6th Class

This was a great experience for everyone involved and I have no doubt that we will see some of these talented actors and actresses on the stage in the years to … Continue reading

Arklow Feis 1st and 2nd Class

Ms. Byrne’s 1st and 2nd class have been very busy practicing for their performance in the Arklow Feis over the past few weeks. Their funny poem ‘Her First Flight’  told the story of a child going on holidays to Tenerife, questioning their Daddy about everything around them. All their hard work paid off today as they took 1st prize in their Action Poem category  in the Arklow Bay Hotel and brought the cup back to  Scoil Ghormáin Naofa Castletown. Well done to all involved!
