A visit from an Engineer!

We had a very exciting morning with a visit from Diarmaid Ó’Suilleabháin, brother of Ms. ní Shuilleabháin. Diarmaid is an engineer and we are very grateful to him for taking time out of his busy schedule to educate our students about what engineering entails. Orienteering Egg hunt!

We had an awesome morning thanks to Ms D’Arcy, PA, Student Council, Active School committee and especially Ms. Whittle  who gave us an orienteering egg hunt! What a fantastic way to link Easter fun with the PE curriculum! It was great to see the buddy system in action too. We hope you all have a lovely Easter!

World Book Day and Pyjamas Day!

What a fantastic day! Our students loved arriving in their array of nightwear and enjoyed breakfast together. We had so much World Book Day activity throughout the day, including buddy reading and a thoroughly enjoyable dramatisation of We’re going on a Bear Hunt by 6th class! Grandparents’ Day

What a wonderful time we had last Friday, celebrating Grandparents’ Day! We deferred the date so that travelling grandparents could avail of the Bank Holiday time with their families. The day started with a beautiful Mass concelebrated by Fr. John and Fr. David. 6th class played tin whistle and there was beautiful music throughout. Many children read prayers and brought gifts. Thank you to Ms. Byrne for her hard work. After the Mass, our wonderful Parents’ Association provided a lovely reception with treats donated by our families. Arklow Music Festival

Wow – what a week we had performing in various competitions at Arklow Music Festival. Each class entered and I was immensely proud of all their performances! A special word of congratulations must go to Mr. Breen and Ms. ní Shuileabháin who won first prize for their rendition of ‘There’s a Monster in the Garden’, by David Harmer. Today we launched our literacy competition for this term. Our genre this time is Recount and all children will write their recount based on their experience of Arklow Music Festival, thus combining English, Art, Music, Drama and SPHE. Good luck to all!
