I am mindful that classrooms are very cold due to ventilation. With this in mind, I have allowed that children may wear their beanie hats during the day, they may wear undergarments such as long sleeved tshirts, they may wear hooded jackets (not snuggies/onesies as these will make them sleepy) and may bring a small blanket to put over their legs. I hope that this makes conditions more bearable.Uniform is still important – we want as much normality as possible!

We didn’t let Covid stop us having fun this festive season!! Enjoy! Cookie Sparkles has just arrived from the North Pole!! So much excitement!

We have decided to go paperless with our newsletters from now on. As we keep you up to date on a daily basis with Dojo etc, we have made our newsletter more concise and environmentally friendly!

Aistear in December is so much fun with role play at Santa’s workshop, Lego construction, cutting and play dough for fine motor skills and Jaggo blocks for gross motor skills!

Each year we challenge our pupils to design a Christmas decoration from recycled materials. We are a no-glitter school so you won’t see that in our decorations. Each year I am amazed by the standard of creativity! I will post pictures over the next week – enjoy!

Well done to this week’s winners for Dress Up Friday! Such creativity! Mam and Dad must have been up very early!

I am launching a Christmas decoration competition. Children are challenged to make a decoration from recycled materials and bring it in to inject some festive colour to our school! Families may help, the emphasis is on collaboration and enjoyment. The deadline is Friday 17th December and there will be prizes for the best – enjoy!!

On Wednesday 08/12/21, our Amber Ambassadors are running ‘Inside Out Day’. Children are permitted to wear their clothes inside out and odd socks too! The message we are sending is that we are all unique and different, how someone looks on the outside may not always reflect how they feel on the inside and our feelings matter (thanks Fiona for the wording). We hope that this will be a little light hearted fun on Wellness Wednesday. There will be no homework on Wednesday to mark the day.
