Active Week- Days 3 and 4

I am just catching up on an epic two days!
Yesterday, we had the honour of welcoming Castletown’s own Mary Hickey to mark her Lap of the Map achievement. She gave a wonderful Q&A session to our very interested students and we were delighted to welcome members of her own family and Fr. McCarney to the talk. Thank you to the PA who again facilitated the refreshments.
The weather was on our side today as we embarked on our walk up Croghan. Big thanks to the site workers for stewarding the parking and giving us such a warm welcome. I was delighted at how well the children behaved and I didn’t see a trace of litter afterwards!
We then came back to sunny Castletown where we enjoyed the finals of the Mini World cup, refereed by Pete O’Brien and organised by Mr Breen. Well done to all! Following that, there was the tense basketball game between parents/teachers and students. The teachers/parents  won so we won’t penalise those who tackled us!!
Tomorrow, we welcome former Women’s #1 tennis seed, Yvonne Doyle to talk to our senior classes. Yvonne is also a mindfulness  coach and will be giving classes during the morning.
We will start at 9 with Wake up Shake up – this time organised by Mr. Breen. I wonder what he has in store?!
At 2 pm, we conclude Active Week with ‘Walk a Mile with a Smile’and we would love to see you all there!!

Many thanks again to Ms. D’Arcy for the wonderful week.
