Sporting Success

Rackard League

Well done to our Rackard League boys team (Niall O’ Shaughnessy, Donnacha O’ Connor, Ross Higgins, James Kavanagh, Jack O’ Gorman, Conn Kinsella, Niall Condren, Gavin Kelly, P. J. Crotty, Doran Daly O’ Toole, Michael Kavanagh and David Byrne) for representing their school in the Rackard League. After some wonderful performances, the boys made it through to the district final where they were defeated by a strong Kilrush team. We thank Mr. Breen and Mick Kavanagh for their hard work and dedication in training this talented bunch of boys.

Well done to our girls who proudly represented Scoil Ghormáin Naofa also. They put up some great performances, especially in their last few games. Thank you to Ms. Murphy for her commitment and dedication to these young girls.

Mini Sevens Gaelic Football Tournament

Well done to our boys Mini Sevens team (Gavin Kelly, Jack O’ Gorman, Niall Condren, Michael Kavanagh, Gracjan Gurlowski, Ross Higgins, David Byrne, Doran Daly O’ Toole, P.J. Crotty and Niall O’ Shaughnessy) who reached the county final on last Tuesday night. They started off in a competition of 60 teams and made it through to the final against a strong Poulfur side. The boys showed great skill and determination on the night and came back very strongly in the second half, with a margin of only two points. The school are extremely proud of the boys and once again, we thank Mr. Breen and Mick Kavanagh for their hard work training the team.

Creagh College Fun Sports Day

Our 5th and 6th classes travelled to Creagh at the beginning of October for a day of sport and fun. They competed in a number of competitions including football, tug – of – war and the crossbar challenge. It was a very successful day for all involved, as both boys and girls emerged victors on the day. It was great to bring some nice silverware back to the school. Thanks to Creagh College for a great day.
