Catholic School’s Week

Catholic schools week took place from January 29th  – February 3rd  2017.

Catholic Schools Week has been celebrated in Ireland for the last seven years. This annual event calls on Catholic schools to give expression in a special way to a particular aspect of Catholic education. This theme of Catholic Schools Week 2017 was ‘Catholic Schools: Learning with Pope Francis to care for our Common Home’.

Children participated in Catholic schools week during their religion time. Wednesday was Grandparents day. Grandparents were given an invitation to come along to our school and watch their grandchild(ren) perform a song/poem with their class. Grandparents then spoke with teachers and students and told us a little about their childhood and experience of school. The Parents Council provided a cup of tea and some tasty treats in the library. We held a prayer service in the church on Thursday to conclude Catholic schools week.We are already looking forward to Catholic Schools Week 2018.
